Final days…

The last few days of field school have been very productive! We are getting very close to finding the entire ditch edge (we only have it on one end so far) and yesterday Harriot (one of our lovely British volunteer excavators) found a broach!

Yesterday afternoon, we visited Maryport and its Roman site. It was very informative and we learned about the religious diversity of the site.

After the museum and site tour, we visited the ocean shore. The tide was low so we were able to wander the petrified forest (fossilized trees) and see the many see creatures left behind in the tide.

What is this???

Can anyone please tell us what this thing in the left corner is??? They were all over the sand.

Qu'est-ce que c'est??
