I’m a little behind with blogging and figured I would do a Sunday to Sunday post. Those of us who did not go to Scotland June 15th enjoyed a lovely hike of Allen Banks and Staward Gorge.
After braving a steep muddy hill, we were able to see the ruins of Staward Peel (a medieval peel tower). What is interesting about this site is that the stones used to make Staward Peel were likely from a Roman peel tower (found on a stone inscription). It is also interesting to note that Housesteads Roman fort is nearby.
After a busy week in the trench, we visited the Lake District. Hikes, laughs and incredible views were the theme of the weekend. Here are a few pictures!
Ta ta for now!
