So today after our visit of the day to Corbridge we made our way to Chesters Fort which was the site of our first two presentations of the summer; one by yours truly about Roman bath houses, and one by Rob about Vindolanda inscriptions. Both presentations went really well! (if I do say so myself!)
The fort at Chesters is amazingly well preserved and we certainly took our time exploring all aspects of it! Also the museum boasts an impressive collection of alters, stone inscriptions, and carvings from sites across Britain. Aside from the presentations and the lovely museum, as an added bonus we got a presentation about Roman gladiators! The two men running the make-shift gladitorial school were kind enough to let us try out a few of the props; how do we look?
